From Struggle to Fluency: Teacher Solutions to Quranic Reading Barriers in Senior High School

Students' difficulties in reading the Quran are a significant challenge in Islamic Religious Education at the high school level. This study aims to identify and analyze teachers' efforts in overcoming these obstacles. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, through data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The main informants are Islamic Religious Education teachers, supported by the principal and curriculum deputy. The results show that teachers apply three main strategies: i) providing motivation through varied learning methods such as group discussions, demonstrations, and question-and-answer sessions to increase student enthusiasm, ii) providing examples of good Quran reading with the help of teaching aids and digital technology to clarify makhraj and tajwid; and iii) accustoming students to reading the Quran regularly through halaqah methods and youth wirid activities. This strategy has proven effective in improving students' ability to read the Quran, despite challenges such as limited learning time, differences in student backgrounds, and a lack of support from the family environment. The implications of this study indicate that the active role of teachers, the support of school principals, and the involvement of parents are very important in shaping a culture of reading the Quran in the school environment. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for educational institutions in designing more effective and sustainable Quran learning strategies.

The Role of Teachers in Islamic Religious Education: A Case Study of Vocational High School Students

This study aims to describe the role of Islamic Education teachers in attracting students' interest in learning Islamic Education subjects in vocational high schools. This study was motivated by low student participation, a lack of variety in teaching methods, and minimal use of technology by teachers, which resulted in a monotonous and less conducive classroom atmosphere. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach, data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The main informants are Islamic Education teachers, with the principal and vice principal of curriculum as secondary data sources. The results show that the role of teachers in attracting students' interest in learning is still not optimal in three main aspects: personal interest, situational interest, and psychological interest. Teachers have not fully encouraged active student involvement, created enjoyable and relevant learning, and developed critical thinking skills. In addition, creativity in delivering material, effective interaction, and the use of technology still need to be improved. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of innovation in Islamic Religious Education learning strategies in order to be able to stimulate students' interest in learning in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.

Parental Role in Instilling Moral Values in Early Childhood During the Digital Era: A Case Study of a Muslim Family

This study aims to examine the role of parents in instilling moral values in early childhood in the digital age. The phenomenon of increasing exposure to digital content that has the potential to disrupt children's character development is the main background of this study. Children tend to imitate behavior from digital media, while some parents, despite being highly educated, do not provide direct moral guidance due to their busy schedules or the assumption that moral education will be obtained from school and the environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that active parental involvement has a significant effect on three main aspects of children's moral development: psychological condition, temperament, and empathy. Children who receive attention and moral guidance from their parents tend to have better self-confidence, are able to control their emotions, and show concern for others. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of the role of parents as primary educators in shaping children's character amid the challenges of the digital age, as well as the need to increase parents' awareness and capacity to carry out this function consistently.

Parental Role Modeling in Shaping Children's Religious Character: A Qualitative Study on Religious Education Practices in the Family Environment

This study aims to describe the role of parents as role models in children's religious learning. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of the weakening of parental role models in everyday life, which has an impact on the low internalization of religious values in children. In fact, parents are the first and foremost educators who should be role models in religious behavior and practice. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of several parents who work as fishermen. The results show that some parents are not yet able to set a good example in religious life, such as not performing religious duties consistently, using language that is not polite in front of children, and exhibiting behavior that does not reflect Islamic values. This weak role modeling has an impact on children's low enthusiasm and understanding of religious teachings. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening the role of parents as role models in shaping children's religious character. The implications of this study encourage the need for parent training programs so that they can become consistent models of Islamic behavior, thereby creating a family environment that supports the optimal spiritual growth and development of children.

Quranic-Based Character Education: Ethical Communication in the Digital Era

Communication in human life is a fundamental aspect of social interaction. The concept of communication is not only related to effective communication methods, but also to communication ethics. Communication ethics, which includes aspects such as honesty, gentleness, and the use of appropriate language, is an important foundation for social interaction among Muslims. This study aims to explore how the principles of communication ethics found in the Quran can be applied in everyday life in the modern era. This study uses a qualitative method with a content analysis approach by collecting and analyzing primary data in the form of Quranic verses related to communication ethics as well as secondary data from relevant books, articles, and papers. The results show that the Quran teaches various principles of civilized, honest, polite, and responsible communication, such as qaulan sadidan, qaulan ma'rufa, qaulan layyina, qaulan baligha, qaulan karima, and qaulan maisura. By prioritizing positive and constructive content and conducting tabayyun before disseminating information, individuals can contribute to more ethical and productive communication in this digital age.
